Mr. Wang Peng is currently an associate researchfellow at the Institute of Latin American Studies(ILAS), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences（CASS）. He is engaged in theresearch of political institutions, party politics and civil organizations inLatin America and paid special attention to Venezuelan and Central American issues.Now he is chief of the Department of Inter-Disciplinary Studies, ILAS andexecutive secretary of the Center for Central American and the CaribbeanStudies. He has been with the Department of Politics at ILAS since 2002. Hesecured his PhD in International Politics from the Department of Latin AmericanStudies, CASS Graduate School. From September 2012 to September 2013, he spentone year as a visiting scholar at CILAS, UCSD.
