Latin America and Caribbean area is one of the most vigorous areas in the world, whose economic development is one of the fastest among all developing countries, its development has always caught the eyes of the whole world. Not only have the economic achievements of Latin American countries been the concerns, but also the practice to seek for the suitable path of building modernization according to their national conditions. All the experiences and lessons got in their seeking practice is becoming the common wealth shared by most developing countries. Although during their development, Latin American countries have encountered all kinds of difficulties, they never stop seeking the development mode suitable for their special conditions, which is as obvious as we see. All experiences and lessons in their seeking process have significance for today’s China to use for reference and are worth a deep research, especially when China now is building the socialist market economy according to our own national conditions.

We are in a process of economic globalization now. The economic development of any country or district can never develop independently of this globalization process. Just fitting this kind of demand, China has carried out the strategy of reform and opening-up unswervingly, and sticks to work on the close trade cooperation relationship with all countries and districts in the world, certainly including Latin America and Caribbean Area. From recent years, both sides of China and Latin America have pushed forward cooperation of business and trade, which made a great contribution to the economic growth for both sides. But we should realize that the huge changes of world economy brought by the rapidly developing economic globalization have been encouraging all states to widen cooperation  fields and modes under this framework of globalization. In fact, it is a great challenge for every state that  many  multinational  corporations  have carried out their globalization strategy exceeding the limitation of one country or district. Under this circumstance, China and Latin American countries also need to broaden the fields and seek various modes of cooperation under the framework of globalization. During the economic globalization, our cooperation in business and trade should be a mutual-benefit and win-win pattern. China or each country in Latin America and Caribbean area is one of important countries and districts in the global economy. Their sustainable growth of economy and social stability is a positive element for their own neighbor countries or districts or even the global economic development. It benefits world peace and development. Therefore, I truly hope scholars in this field will do deeper research on that aspect.
