Symposium on "China's macro energy security impact and China Latin America energy cooperation"
On March 24, 2022, the Regional Cooperation Research Office of the Latin American Institute held a symposium on "China's macro energy security impact and China Latin America energy cooperation". Dr. Lin Bo of the Institute of industrial economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was invited to give a keynote speech. Associate researcher Lu Siyu presided over the meeting. Members of the regional cooperation research office, economic research office and International Relations Research Office participated in the discussion.
The speaker believed that the impact of China's macro energy security is a systematic problem. In terms of energy cooperation between China and Latin America, China and Latin America have strong energy cooperation intentions. The transnational business model of Chinese oil and gas enterprises is becoming more and more mature, and the new energy cooperation between China and Latin America is constantly strengthened. However, it is also facing challenges such as interference from the United States and Western countries, high energy transportation costs, and lack of stability in the policies of some Latin American countries. In the question session, the participants had further discussions with the keynote speaker on topics such as China Latin America clean energy cooperation, the impact of Russia Ukraine dispute on China Latin America energy security, carbon peak and carbon neutralization goal.
